Solid launches free on Google Play so small businesses can run on Solana and keep every cent of every sale

One app to get paid, invoice clients and track every payment, with no card fees and none of the wallet clutter.

Cape Town, 28 October 2026. Card payments cost small businesses a slice of every sale, and crypto wallets were never built to run a business. Solid, the payments app built on Solana, is now on Google Play to fix both: free to use, no percentage of sales, and the tools a business actually needs.

Anyone can request, send and split money in any chat, and see everything they’ve received and spent, without paying Solid a cent. Shops, freelancers and consultants can add a point of sale, invoicing and business analytics when they’re ready.

The problem: card fees and clunky wallets

In many markets, card payments cost a business 1.5% to 3% of every sale, before fixed fees, payouts and hardware. On $5,000 a month in card sales, that is $900 to $1,800 a year gone, and the smallest businesses feel it most.

Crypto payments should be the answer, but most wallets are built for holding and trading tokens, not running a business. They’re crowded with features a shop or consultant doesn’t need, and missing the ones they do: invoices, sales tracking and a clear view of the numbers.

How Solid works

Solid comes with its own Android keyboard. In WhatsApp or any other chat, tap the Solid mark, type an amount, and a payment link lands in the conversation. The other person checks the amount and destination, then approves it in their own Solana wallet.

The money settles in seconds, straight into the seller’s wallet. Solid takes no percentage, network fees are under a cent, and there is nothing to withdraw because the money never passes through Solid.

Run your business on Solana

Solid is built for business first. It understands your payments: what each one was for, which invoices are paid, and what is still waiting, all checked on the chain.

A freelancer or consultant can send invoices that close themselves when paid, keep a client list on their phone and see money in, out and outstanding, month by month. A shop gets a point of sale with items, stock, staff devices and loyalty stamps, plus a web dashboard for the admin. An accountant can read and export the books, including a VAT report, but can never move money.

It’s everything a business needs to get paid and stay on top of its numbers, without juggling a wallet, a card machine, an invoicing tool and a spreadsheet.

Who it’s for

Solid is built for small businesses that want to keep more of every sale: shops, salons, cafés, market stalls, freelancers and consultants. It works just as well for friends splitting dinner, families sending each other money and savings clubs collecting contributions.
