You can now place and receive both one-on-one and group voice or video calls directly from web.whatsapp.com. The feature works natively inside major web browsers without requiring any browser extensions or client-side downloads.
2. Seamless Call Transfer Across Devices
One of the stand-out additions is Call Transfer. If you start a group call on your smartphone while on the move, you can instantly hand off the active call to WhatsApp Web when you get to your desk or vice versa without dropping the connection, hanging up, or re-joining the room.
3. Screen Sharing & In-Call Emoji Reactions
To support remote collaboration, WhatsApp Web now includes screen sharing. You can present slides, share documents, or walk through a workflow directly from your web tab. Participants can also send real-time emoji reactions without interrupting the speaker.
4. Dedicated Calls Tab & Favorites
The web interface now features a dedicated Calls tab. From here, you can view your complete call history, access favorited contacts for quick one-click dialing, and manage missed incoming calls directly from your sidebar.
5. Waiting Rooms for Link-Based Calls
When sharing a call link, hosts now have access to a Waiting Room security control. Organizers can review and manually approve incoming participants before letting them join the live session, reducing unwanted interruptions in larger group meetings.
6. Background Noise Suppression & QuickHD Video
On the audio/video quality front, WhatsApp has integrated background noise suppression to filter out environmental sounds such as keyboard clatter or ambient room noise. Additionally, a new feature called QuickHD accelerates video encoding during the first few seconds of a call to deliver crisp image quality instantly upon connecting.
