Node Nation: El Salvador Leads the Way in Bitcoin Education
El Salvador, a nation already well-known for its historic adoption of Bitcoin as legal tender, has once again pushed the boundaries of innovation by introducing Node Nation into its public school curriculum. This groundbreaking program teaches students the technical skills to manage their own Bitcoin Lightning Network nodes.
Node Nation, launched in a pilot phase this past Friday, provides hands-on instruction in coding, network configuration, and liquidity management on the Bitcoin Lightning Network. This cutting-edge educational initiative is backed by the Salvadoran Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology (MINEDUCYT), the National Bitcoin Office, and graduates of CUBO+, a program focused on Bitcoin development.
“We are committed to giving our students the tools to succeed in a rapidly evolving technological landscape,” declared José Mauricio Pineda, Minister of MINEDUCYT, during the Node Nation inauguration ceremony. “This program puts El Salvador at the forefront of Bitcoin education.”
The enthusiasm for Node Nation is also evident within the project team. @NodeNationSV the project team emphasized on social media.
The initial success of the program has spurred the National Bitcoin Office (ONBTC) to announce the expansion of Node Nation to additional schools within the next year.
