Anthropic’s new multi-agent architecture automates the vetting of AI-generated software for enterprise security.

Anthropic has officially launched Code Review, a new enterprise-grade feature within its Claude Code platform designed to automate the vetting of AI-generated software. The tool uses a multi-agent system to identify logic errors and security vulnerabilities before code is merged into production environments. This release addresses a critical industry bottleneck where the speed of AI code generation has outpaced the capacity of human developers to conduct thorough manual reviews.

The ‘Vibe Coding’ Bottleneck

The launch follows a reported 200% increase in code output per engineer at Anthropic over the past year. This surge, often referred to as “vibe coding,” enables developers to build functional applications using natural language, but it frequently results in surface-level “skims” during the peer-review process.

Anthropic’s Head of Product, Cat Wu, stated that the tool is specifically targeted at large-scale enterprise users such as Uber, Salesforce, and Accenture. These organizations are currently managing a high volume of pull requests (PRs) that require deep logic checks rather than simple formatting fixes.

Multi-Agent Architecture

Unlike traditional static analysis tools, Code Review dispatches multiple specialized AI agents to analyze a PR simultaneously. The system operates in parallel:

  • Specialized Analysis: Individual agents focus on specific areas, including logic flow, security protocols, and performance optimization.
  • Lead Aggregation: A final “lead agent” consolidates these findings, removes duplicates, and ranks issues by importance.
  • Visual Severity Labels: Risks are color-coded, with Red for critical errors, Yellow for human-required checks, and Purple for pre-existing historical bugs.

Performance and Cost Structure

During internal testing on large pull requests (over 1,000 lines), the tool identified meaningful issues in 84% of cases. Human engineers agreed with the tool’s findings over 99% of the time.

The feature is currently available in Research Preview for customers on “Claude for Team” and “Claude for Enterprise” plans. Unlike flat-rate coding assistants, Code Review is billed on token usage, with Anthropic estimating an average cost of $15 to $25 per pull request.

The Shift to AI Verification

The development represents a strategic shift in the AI sector from generation to verification. As tools like GitHub Copilot and Cursor make code generation a commodity, the value is shifting toward automated quality assurance and security.

Industry competitors are expected to follow suit as organizations seek to maintain software stability without slowing down the development lifecycle. Anthropic provides administrators with centralized controls, allowing them to set monthly spending caps and enable the tool only for specific high-stakes repositories.
